What is a Warehouse Management System (WMS), and how is it different from inventory tracking?
Inventory tracking keeps the stock record of products in the warehouse by quantity and cost, while a WMS (Warehouse Management System) manages the physical movements from the moment goods enter the warehouse until they leave (shelving, aisle tracking, picking and shipping with handheld terminals). Do we have to buy expensive industrial handheld terminals?
No, not at all. The Skala WMS app runs on standard Android and iOS phones with a camera. You can use your existing handheld terminals (Zebra, Honeywell, Datalogic, etc.) or digitise your warehouse with affordable tablets and phones.
What if our products don't have barcodes yet?
In Skala you can design custom barcode and QR labels for your products, cartons/pallets or shelf locations in one click and print them on your printer.
Can I manage several physical warehouses or 3PL warehouses at the same time?
